Durham-Duplex goes 100% Renewable

Durham- Duplex are very please to now be using 100% renewable energy courtesy of Bryt Energy who only supply zero carbon electricity that’s 100% renewable – sourced solely from wind, solar and hydro.

MD Charles Turner said ” Durham-Duplex tries to do its bit for the environment and this is another small step in the right direction.  taken in addition to our high levels of recycling of paper, cardboard & steel and our electric delivery van we hope to reduce our footprint without compromising performance.  Now we are on a roll so I guess the next step will have to be solar power on the factory roof – watch that space!”

Med Tec 2018

Durham Duplex exhibited at the Med Tec UK Exhibition in the Ricoh Arena in Coventry 25 – 26th April 2018.  As well as being a good exhibition straight in the Med Tec sweet spot of our partners AccuTEC Blade’s  line of Personna Medical products it was also the first show for Sam Bates, one of our interns.  As Sam said ” it was a great first show for me to attend as the punters were all experts in their own field but interested in what we were exhibiting.  It also showed me the power of market research before a show as I was able to recognise and engage with target customers, particularly on the AccuTEC product range. ”

If you would like more details on DD’s or AccuTEC’s range of products then please contact Sam on personna@durham-duplex.co.uk or on 01142432313.

Made in Sheffield Awards 2018

Durham-Duplex has again been involved in the manufacture of the Made in Sheffield Awards.  As in previous years the body of the trophy has been laser cut by Laser Cutting Service, polished by Stainless Finishing Services and marked by the Sheffield Assay Office but the base and assembly is the responsibility of Durham-Duplex.  This year the design and manufacture of the base was done by Jono Burns and Gabriele Minacapilli two of our Engineering Graduates from our 2016 RISE cohort.  Well done chaps!

Master Cutler’s Challenge 2018

Durham-Duplex got in the swing of things in support of the Master Cutler’s Challenge with a 5 a side football match between the Petre Street based staff and a team from Carwood Road.  An hours frenetic footballing generated many memorable moments, thankfully no injuries and a rematch planned in the pub afterwards.  All this whilst raising cash for the charity!  There were even supporters on the side line, although they were probably more amused than amazed by the silky skills of the participants with the exception of a couple of people who really could play!  Well done to Sam and Philip for organising the event.
