The Accounts team have taken charge of Durham-Duplex’s contribution to the Master Cutler’s Challenge in support of Cavendish Cancer Care a Cancer Charity based in Sheffield supporting those affected by cancer.
Event 1 was a cake sale with offerings from Slutty Brownies to Lemon drizzle and Biscoff buns to Cookies which were all delicious and raised £125.
Event 2 was UK sales, Event 3 was Dispatch and Petre Street factory and Event 4 was the Export team. Finally the production team did their bit and to date over £510 has been raised so well done Team!
We obviously like cake in DD.
Durham-Duplex are looking forward to exhibiting at the re-scheduled Food Pack Asia in BITEC Bangkok 4-7 April 2022. The Durham-Duplex (SEA) sales team are looking forward to the event which specialises in the needs for the Thai food processing and packaging needs . As DD(SEA) Sales Manager Miss Kanwipha Kammana says “This show has always been about the knowledgeable operators, engineers and bosses of Thai food companies who still want to offer their customers excellent products but are free of the restrictive maintenance agreements of Multinational firms. This fits neatly into Durham-Duplex’s ability to make bespoke machine knife products in Thailand for the local market.”

Durham-Duplex (Europe) are Exhibiting at Empack Gorinchem, NL 5-7 April 2022.
EU Sales Manager David Piper said “Its so nice to be out visiting in Europe again after the lockdowns and we are looking forward to exhibiting at Empack in Gorinchem. Durham Duplex had a very successful Health and Safety Event in the NEC 5-7 April. For, as Paul Bottomley, UK Sales Director, says “Covid related operating practises have changed how companies think and Health & safety is even higher up the radar especially in relation to reducing work place absences . One of the main reasons for warehouse and dispatch staff missing work other than Covid is using incorrect hand knives for the job so Durham-Duplex were delighted to be showing the full OLFA range at the NEC 4-7 April. ”

The International Food & Drink Event at London Excel 21-23rd March 2022 was a Foodies idea of heaven and this year the show had the additional benefit of being co-located with the London Produce show, Pub 22 and the Hospitality & Restaurant show as well as the IFE Manufacturing show which was important as buying local and traceability becomes more popular.
Durham-Duplex were delighted to be one of the invited exhibitors showing their wares to the growing number of small food producers that visited the shows and whose brands are growing out of their kitchens and into small scale manufacturing. It is these little acorns that will help drive the UK’s Food and Drink sector for the next decade as we seek to make the food we eat more local and sustainable.
Alex Smith, UK Area Sales Manager at Durham-Duplex, said “It had become apparent that the food industry in UK is changing and IFE is the UK’s showcase for the wide variety of products now made and sold here. IFE is a vertical event with producers, manufacturers and consumers represented and all of them were seeking to modernise and increase their productivity in a sustainable way.
