For the 3rd year Durham Duplex are delighted to be the manufacturer of the Made in Sheffield Award. This collaboration has seen several Sheffield Companies come together to realise the design vision of Tom Fripp, from Fripp Design Ltd, and Chris Knight, silversmith and lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
This award combined the skills of the Laser Cutting Company, Sheffield Metal Polishing Company, TWI (Yorkshire) and the Laser marking of the Sheffield Assay Office with the machining skills from Durham-Duplex to make the award which is also a celebration of 100 years since the discovery of stainless steel in Sheffield by Harry Brearley. Only 6 have been produced and the winners will be announced at the Made in Sheffield Dinner on 18t April at the Cutlers Hall.
