Durham-Duplex were delighted to host a visit by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Sioned-Mair Richards and her Deputy Councillor Colin Ross on 27th March as part of a series of visits to manufacturers in the City. They had a tour of the machine knife factory from Walmsley Works on Lyons Street through to Carwood Road with John Bailey, the Factory Manager, and finished at Durham-Duplex on Petre St being shown toothing and Industrial Blades by Dave Addiss, the Petre St Factory Manager.
The Lord Mayor was particularly pleased to have a go at smithing as her relative were blacksmiths and her badge of office has an anvil on it.
Durham-Duplex will be back in BENELUX for EMPACK at Brabanthallen Den Bosch on 5 & 6 April 2023. EU Sales Manager David Piper will be showing the Company’s wide range of products for the food processing and packaging industry. He commented “I like doing Empack shows they are easy to do and gain good footfall with their market specialisation. The local buyers are also learning that dealing with a manufacturer is better especially when that manufacturer has over 100 years of experience so can deliver what the customer wants rather than what is available. I highly encourage visitors to talk to us.”

Durham-Duplex were delighted to be back at Southern Manufacturing 7 -9 February showing off their full range of industrial blades and machine knives. UK Sales Director Paul Bottomley commented “This show is a long way from home but that’s a good thing as we get a completely different footfall across the 3 days all of which were looking for quality products which ticks our box as a Sheffield based manufacturer. With the move to traceability we offer something different as an ISO 9001 manufacturer which we complement with our range of safety knives and also Accutec’s specialty blades for windscreens and OLFA’s hand knives. So there was plenty for the engineer, H&S specialist and buyer to look at.”
